New Year's Eve Fireworks Downtown

This will be a family event complete with a unity walk @ 10:30pm from the courthouse square to the event area at the south end of Walnut Street in the Defur Voran parking lot.

Once there, we will have warm tents, live music, kids activities, a big Times Square type ball drop at the stroke of midnight, followed by fireworks!  Sounds fun, huh!

The local “robotics team” is building our giant ball as you read this.  We were able to help them secure a grant to build it. They will be able to make it bigger and better each year.  They got the idea from the Kokomo team that has been hosting this type of celebration for 10 years in Downtown Kokomo.  These kids are really committed to the idea of giving back to the community.  Check out this link to see how Kokomo does it.

Now as cool as a “ball drop” from a giant crane may be, I felt like we needed a final ta-da for the event…fireworks, of course!  We need to raise $5000 to get this done. 

Will you help us make this happen? Maybe you can only do $10…OK, do that!  Maybe you want to do $50…really, I’m OK with that too!
