Our Current Campaigns

There are many programs out there that could use your help. Find one here.

Difficult financial times are upon us, to be sure, but that doesn't mean we can't come together to make Muncie an exciting and beautiful place to live, work and play. Your contribution, even if it's only $5.00, can make a difference.

Muncie has a lot more going for it than many people realize - inexpensive real estate, one of the top high schools in the US, excellent health care, a thriving university and most importantly, great people that believe in a vibrant community.

Help us to help Muncie reach its full potential. A liile change can make a big difference

Downtown Muncie Cleanup

Photo by Ty MortonLight Up Muncie, the Muncie Downtown Business Council/Heart of the City and Downtown Development will be hosting walking tours of the downtown area for incoming Ball State University students and their parents the first week of June.

We want to put our best foot forward as we welcome these families to our city, so we are hosting a Downtown Cleanup May 30th & 31st, from 9:00AM to 3:00PM.

What we need most is volunteers, but there are also some costs we need to cover.

I can't volunteer, but I'd like to help with the cost of supplies.

Save The Muncie YWCA Pool

Photo by Kurt Hostetler/The Star PressThe YWCA pool is a warm water pool (84 to 88 degrees). Because it is 80 years old, (it was last rehabbed in 1992) there are constant repairs needed.

In December 2008 to bring the pool up to meet a new federal code we had to spend $5000.00.

We had decided to close the pool; however our members and swimmers sfelt the pool had to be kept open due to the use of so many seniors who needed the warm water exercise.

They raised the initial $5000.00 to have it fixed so it was kept open.

Due to ongoing expenses we know another $15,000.00 is needed to be able to keep it open past June 30, 2009.
