Getting Better Every Day!Like many cities all over the country, Muncie is facing difficult financial times. Many city services and community programs that contribute to our quality of life are being eliminated, due to insufficient funds. We can change that. It's the little things, as they say, that greatly impact our lives – Ringing in the new year, while fireworks light up the sky; spending time with family, friends and neighbors at a downtown street festival; or simply enjoying an evening of live theatre. In our current economic climate, these treasures can seem like a pleasure of the past, and out of reach. Most of these programs, however, are within our reach; and for as little as $10, you can help make them happen. |

New Year's Eve 2009
Downtown Muncie's New Year's Eve Celebration is a family-friendly event, complete with live music, refreshments, toasty tents and lots of games and prizes. At midnight, we will have a Times Square-style ball drop, and then light up the sky with fireworks. It's a wonderful way to start a new year. The best part about it is that it is community-sponsored. The entire event is paid for with donations from area businesses, organizations and people like you. Let's do it again! We're looking for 1,000 people to contribute $5 each (you can always give more, if you like). That's all it takes to Light Up Muncie. Contributions are tax-deductible. |

Muncie Brewfest - October 24thLight Up Muncie is proud to present the Muncie Brewfest, Saturday October 24th! Over the past few years, Muncie has become Indiana's Craft Beer Mecca. We sell more craft beer in Muncie – particularly downtown – than any other city in the state, including Indianapolis. Miuncie Brewfest will be an annual event, bringing in people from all over Indiana, Illinois, Ohio & Michigan to visit our city for a day of dining and shopping. Tickets start at $35, and include tasting tokens, food and a souvenir glass. Proceeds from the event will benefit Muncie Historic Preservation and Downtown Development.
